It’s more often than you would actually think …

Hands up – those who regularly go to the hairdresser to get their hair cut?!

If we are totally being honest, most of us do not really know the answer. Yes, we know how often we need to wash our hair, which depends on one’s hair type of course, but not the lingering question of how often to cut it.

When LIFE happens to everyone, getting a haircut tends to fall quite the least important on that time-demanding TO-DO LIST. And when we finally make it to the Salon, we were all somehow have been reprimanded with a ‘’ You need to get your hair cut every six (6) months blahhh.. blahh.. blahh..’’

But is that really the case?

We at AHAZIJ BEAUTY CENTER believe that – much like our habit on washing our hair, it really depends on the individual’s hairstyle, also taking into consideration the actual hair length.

Now, you maybe wondering how much to chop off from your precious hair? Fret not, because we here to guide you …

For Long hair, we recommend cutting off about half (1/2) an inch every ten (10) weeks. That way, you can still keep about an inch of growth while getting rid of the thinning, fragile, worn-out, and split ends. The same interval applies to layered hairs in order to keep them bouncy and light and the style, fresh and sharp.

For short hair, such as pixie cuts and crops, the haircut’s shape and texture will grow out and need re-doing every four (4) to six (6) weeks and (6) to eight (8) weeks for medium-length hair.

WHY? Primarily because short hairstyles tend to lose their shape quicker, so you need to keep on top of it to sustain the over-all look.

If you have curly hair, then you only need once or twice a year, as curly hair does ‘shrink’ when cut.

So, there you have it! Now you can cross the haircut out from your list without feeling too guilty. If you want healthy hair, then cut it!
